Minted Arnold Palmers
If you are looking for a new way to sweeten your tea, an Arnold Palmer works with nearly every summer flavor! Sweeten your favorites and add in lemon flavor all at once for a refreshing twist.
In this recipe we will be using Assam Superior black tea as the base, but feel free to get creative with your flavors. A traditional Arnold Palmer is an unflavored black tea with lemon-aide, but we also love Raspberry Burst and Sunny Sangria!
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, slightly crushed
- 2 quarts cold water (8 cups)
- 1 quart water for steeping (4 cups)
- 1 cup Natural Rock Sugar
- 1 can (6 ounce) frozen lemon-aide concentrate, thawed
- 8-12 teaspoons Assam Superior black tea (or tea of choice)
Instructions:
To Brew Your Tea: Simply brew a concentrate of your choice of tea (half the water, double the tea – we recommend Assam Superior black) and briefly shake in a tumbler with ice, and set aside.
For a Bigger Batch of Iced Tea: Place 8-12 Teaspoons of tea (1-2 teaspoons per 8 ounces of water) in a filter bag, large tea ball, or in a special cold-steeping pitcher along with cold water, and put in the fridge for 8-12 hours!
Pour the tea concentrate in either a pitcher or a large container. Fill the remaining space with cold water and lemonade. Serve in a tall glass over ice; garnish with a sprig of mint, and enjoy! For a stronger minty flavor, double the mint and add directly into the pitcher.
